Pumptrack at one of the most modern shopping centers – Aleja in Ljubljana

We have finished with construction works on the asphalt pump track at of one of the most modern shopping centers in Central Europe – Aleja, located in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Our company Alliance ASE won the international tender for planning and construction of the pump track that was held by the investor SES (Spar European Shopping Centers) from Salzburg, Austria.

Shopping center ALEJA

ALEJA, located in the Siska district of Ljubljana, Slovenia is one of the most modern shopping centers in Central Europe. ALEJA was completed following a construction period that ran from August 2017 to March 2020. Covering 32,000 m² of leasable space and featuring 80 shops, restaurants, and service providers, SES has created a first-class shopping center in the densely populated northwest of the city. ALEJA’s unique architecture and modern concept are particularly impressive. In line with the latest international trends, a mixed-use location offering shopping, gastronomy, and leisure activities, has been developed, and it includes a 6,200 m² sports and adventure zone on the roof, “ALEJA Sky”. An important part of sports and adventure zone is also the asphalt pump track, situated in the proximity of main entrance. Investment in the whole project amounts to approximately 150 million euros. ALEJA is consequently one of the largest project developments and investments in Slovenian retail in recent years. The opening of ALEJA was planned for 19th of March 2020, however it was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. New opening date will be released ASAP.

ALEJA Pumptrack

The concept of ALEJA is strongly tied to active lifestyle and sports. As mentioned, it features several different sports objects, including the asphalt pump track. Pump track is located on the roof of underground garage, in the proximity of main entrance. It is composed of two connected pump tracks, smaller one intended for kids and beginners and bigger one suitable for more experienced users. Together pump tracks extend on more than 1000 m2 and are suitable for the widest spectrum of users between the age of 2 and 70 on all types of bikes, scooters, skateboards, striders, roller blades and other wheeled sports equipment. This is already the fourth pump track that we have built in Ljubljana and one of more than 50 that we have built around the globe, from Austria to Moscow. At Alliance ASE we took care for the design, planning and construction, while Strabag took care for landscaping and urban furniture.
